Ethical Tableware

Sustainability

Sustainability standards

Our producers and partners are required to use sustainable approaches including:

  • re-use of ceramics surplus
  • effective recycling and water management
  • local natural resources wherever possible
  • re-using heat from kilns
  • energy-efficient equipment
  • photovoltaic energy sources
  • water consumption reduction measures and treatment
  • environmentally-friendly facilities

Recycled and recyclable packaging.

We can always do more and we are constantly working to reduce our footprint in line with our minimal impact philosophy.

Sustainable tableware.

We make sustainable tableware with minimal impact and minimal waste.

Our tableware is built to be durable and not chip or crack and our products can be easily replaced. There is nothing ‘fast’ about it.

We love discussing sustainable production methods and recycling options with customers. Please reach out if you'd like to chat or have any questions about our values and methods.

The Plated Programme

Sharing food beyond our own tables

The power of sharing

Plated began with a simple idea: good things happen when people sit down and share food.

Our donation programme carries that idea further. We share part of set sales with organisations helping put food on the table for people who need it, in the UK and abroad.

We keep the programme straightforward and want customers to know where the support goes.

How it works

When you buy a dinner set, we make a food donation through the Plated Programme. We support organisations working to stop children and families going hungry. We also lend Plated tableware to charities running events, free of charge. If you are planning a charitable event or want to ask about the programme, talk to us.
